Hey Mate is a social enterprise providing mental well-being support to the creative industries that established in 2019. In 2021 we introduced our initiative Mate Studio.
What is Mate Studio?
Mate Studio is an initiative by The Hey Mate Project. Providing creative activity for individuals, community and corporate for connection and well-being right across Australia. Our HQ is based in Brisbane with a remote team nation wide, there is the opportunity for blended work delivery. Our previous clients include CANVA, NAB, Google and more.

About the Role
You’ll use your creative and administrative talents to coordinate creative activity for clients right across Australia working in job share with our existing Workshop Coordinator and in partnership with our Director.
Some of our tasks will include:
Client, supplier and team liaison and scheduling
Supplies procurement
Logistic Management
Assisting with team recruitment, screening and inductions
Timely management of inquiries and bookings
Assisting with remote management of creative team
Maintaining record keeping
Assisting with building and maintaining client relations
Assisting with graphic design and marketing
The nitty-gritty details
We’re looking for a talented person to join us on a casual basis. You’ll work on rotating days across a Tues-Thursday week, which includes some Saturdays. You may require to fill in on occasional Mondays or Fridays. Shift times are generally 9am - 1pm. Our Coordinator will work between 1 - 4 shifts per week dependent on your availability and the needs of the program.
About You
We’d love to hear from you if you:
Have specific, creative and administrative talents, supported either by qualifications or work experience
Can creatively connect with people in an authentic, positive and engaging manner
Stay at the forefront of creative trends, building these into our programs.
Can build quality relationships different stakeholders
Ability to maintain a high level of organisation and time management
Confident creative skills in marketing and graphic design
Ability to smoothly manage multiple tasks eg. logistics and procurement for 2 -10 workshops per week.
You understand that to be considered for this you are require to submit a cove rletter and have a solid understanding of the organisations.

Expression of Interest: Creative Industry Counsellors, Psychologists and Intake Staff

Hey Mate is a social enterprise counseling and therapeutic support service. For nearly four years we have been providing easy & accessible mental health support creative industry workers and those who care about them.
We are currently looking to expand our team of telehealth practitioners and intake officers. As a workplace, Hey Mate will provide flexible working hours, and a positive and supportive team environment with supervision and development opportunities.
What you’ll be doing:
— Intake and assessment of new clients
— Regular telehealth counselling / therapeutic support or coaching sessions with repeat clients
— Escalation of high risk and high profile issues through the correct channels
What we’re looking for:
— A relevant counselling, psychology or psycho- therapy qualification
— Broad knowledge base of relevant therapies used in counselling and other supportive modalities
— Telehealth experience highly valued, but training can be provided
- A strong understanding of the creative industries, select sectors, on a sector level, industry level and individual level.
-Professional registration with appropriate peak body eg. ACA, PACFA ETC
Please note: It is a requirement for every team member to have creative industry experience.
