Supporting Theatre Wellbeing: Hey Mate x Shake & Stir 🎭

We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Shake & Stir Theatre Co., the incredible team behind productions like Sister Act The Musical and many other outstanding theatre experiences.

Touring theatre is an exciting and dynamic world, but it also comes with unique challenges—long hours, intense performance schedules, constant travel, and time away from family and support networks. That’s why Hey Mate is proud to provide mental health support to Shake & Stir’s cast and crew throughout their productions and tours.

How Hey Mate is Supporting Shake & Stir

Through this partnership, Hey Mate is offering:

✅ Remote Support – Cast and crew can access confidential wellbeing support whenever they need it, no matter where they are.
✅ On-Site Check-Ins – Our team will be present during key moments of the tour to ensure everyone has access to professional mental health support.
✅ Tour Debriefs – Theatre tours are a whirlwind, and once they wrap, it’s important to process the experience. We provide structured debriefs to help performers and crew reflect, recharge, and reset before their next project.

Why Wellbeing in Theatre Matters

The performing arts industry is high-pressure and demanding, and the statistics reflect the need for better mental health support:

📌 63% of performing artists have experienced mental health challenges (Support Act, 2022)
📌 Arts workers are twice as likely to experience anxiety and depression compared to the general population (Entertainment Assist, 2016)
📌 Job insecurity and burnout are major stressors for performing artists, impacting long-term career sustainability

At Hey Mate, we believe that theatre professionals deserve the same level of care and support as any other industry. By working with Shake & Stir, we’re ensuring that their talented artists and crew have access to the tools they need to stay mentally strong, resilient, and ready to take the stage.

Leading the Way for Theatre Wellbeing

Shake & Stir Theatre Co. is leading by example, showing that mental health and wellbeing are just as important as rehearsals, staging, and performance. By prioritizing holistic support for their teams, they are helping to shape a future where theatre workers don’t just survive their careers—but thrive in them.

We are so proud to be part of this movement. If you’re in the performing arts industry and looking to bring tailored mental health support to your team, let’s chat!

🎭 The stage should be a place of passion, not pressure. Let’s create a theatre industry where wellbeing takes center stage.
